As for Humans, TREADMILLS for rodents are apparatus to study a “forced” motor activity. They are used to study long or short term effort, fatigue, cardiac rehabilitation, walking and running movement, knees and other legs joints, VO2/VCO2 metabolism…..
    Our TREADMILLS show some unique features as:
    • a complete micro-electonic controled and stand alone equipment,
    • with available PC link for data transfert (free SEDACOM software),
    • automatized works protocols with user defined time/speed steps (option TREAD),
    • power transmission allowing a continuous speed variation with silent operation even at high speed
    • Rugged construction (heavy duty motor and bearings, special long life belt, tray for feces, up & down slopes ….) easy to use and maintain.
    • each lane has its own independent shocker grid, with scrambler, to push the animal to stay and run on the belt
    • a large display showing, for each lane, the timer , the speed, the number and duration of shocks and the distance performed by the animal

    Six models are available:
    • LE 8700 (1 Rat, with CO option for O2/CO2 measurements)
    • LE 8706 (2 Rats)
    • LE 8708 (1 Mouse, prepared for O2/CO2 measurements see option)
    • LE 8709 (2 Mice )
    • LE 8710 (5 Mice or Rats, specific cover and grids per specie )
    • LE 8715 (1 Rabbit, with CO option for O2/CO2 measurements)

    The control unit and data transfer software are included with each model
    • Slope: manually adjustable for the complete belt (all lanes) up and down hill, from – 20° to +20° in 5° steps
    The microprocessor control allows more precise timing control and more accurate rotation regulation, for speed and shocks :
    • An Electronic switch allows for an accurate and continuous selection of speed up to 150 cm/second
    • Individual time counters (min:secs) per lane, running from the beginning of the test, for speed and shocks
    • Shocks selectable for all grids up to 2 mA.
    The shock supplied by the grid is of constant intensity, ie, the current which circulates through the animal (and therefore its effect) only depends on the value of the mA chosen and not on the conditions of the subject (quantity of body mass in contact with the bars, perspiration, etc.)

    built-in RS 232 port allows the transfer of data to a PC
    • Data are stored in memory as a table lanes / trials
    • The data can be transfered to a PC, using Serial Data Communication
    Software (SEDACOM) supplied free with the instrument
    All data are in ASCII format to be exported to other programs (Microsoft Excel as example)

    Optional Software: “TREAD” allows the user to define step by step the speed of the belt and the duration of each step. Thus, specific training or effort protocols can be run and stored
    • “Tread” allows to control up to 4 treadmills (ie up to 50 animals), each with a specific protocol, and a time resolution step of 0,1 second
